Oracle Senior Software Developer in NOIDA, India

Job Description

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Responsibilities

This role requires deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to hit the ground running.

You will be responsible for solving algorithmically complex problems, working on front and backend services that can handle massive workloads in a distributed multi-tenant architecture, utilizing serverless computing, auto-scaling, microservices architecture on Kubernetes, ML/AI based predictive algorithms.

Our projects span across multiple OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) services like - compute, network, storage, OCI logging service, OCI events service, Kubernetes etc. and you will work closely and learn from a large engineering community with direct interaction with project leadership and customers.

Engineer will

  • Improve monitoring, notifications, and configuration of Farm services.

  • Perform proactive service checks and monitor/triage and address incoming system/application alerts, email, and slack communications to ensure appropriate priority and meeting service SLA response time.

  • Participate in activities for services such as upgrades and patching.

  • Identify and work with engineering to implement opportunities for automation, reduction recurring issues, and other actions to reduce time to mitigate service impacting events and increase the productivity of development resources.

  • Coordinate, document, and track critical incidents, ensuring rapid and complete issue resolution and an appropriate closed loop to customers and other key stakeholders.

  • Contribute to a healthy, supportive, and inclusive team culture.

  • Up-skill by learning new features delivered for the service in accordance with the product roadmap.

  • Improve the availability, scalability, latency, ease of use, and efficiency of service control plans and operational tooling.

  • Participate in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.

  • Need to be motivated quick learners.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Perl, Java, JavaScript)

  • 2+ years of experience with data structures or algorithms

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience

  • Prior experience working on SQL and PL/SQL will be a plus

  • Knowledge in Linux and its administration with scripting capability to automate repetitive tasks. Linux kernel experience is a plus

  • Prior experience in working on public cloud (Oracle Cloud, AWS, GPC, Azure)

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science (or related field) or equivalent industry experience

  • Requires strong communication and writing skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Software development experience in one or more programming languages

  • Experience with REST/RPC API design and development

  • Experience with Docker/Podman containerization and Kubernetes

  • Experience with event-driven systems like Kafka

  • Interest in solving complex mathematical models for database query optimization
