Norton Sound Health Corporation Population Health CMA in Nome, Alaska
Purpose of Position:
Provide patient and family focused care in accordance with NSHCs policies and procedures while applying standards for professional Certified Medical Assistant practice in the outpatient setting.
Uphold the organizations vision, mission, and corporate values. Demonstrate understanding of and compliance with organizations policies, procedures, code of conduct and work rules.
Essential Functions:
Intake patients by obtaining vital signs, verifying allergies and all medications that the patient is currently taking, documenting chief complaints before the patient is seen by thephysician
Obtain laboratory results for review by the physician, setting up and assisting with procedures, completing lab requisition forms and entering labs asordered
Perform various injections such as intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous, and phlebotomy asordered
Perform electrocardiograms, suture removal and wound care, patient education and assist with minorsurgery
Ensure patient follow-up care and scheduling ofappointments
Prepare and stock examinationrooms
Administer oxygen therapy by nasal cannula or face mask as ordered by thephysician
Perform other duties as assigned
