What Manufacturing Management contributes to Cardinal Health
Manufacturing is responsible for cost of production and maintenance activities including process improvement, supply chain management, quality assurance, employee safety and engagement, and environmental commitment.
Manufacturing Management is responsible for strategic oversight and leadership direction within the Manufacturing function.
Position Summary
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising a team of employees, coordinating work assignments to meet production schedules, evaluating department and individual performance, and ensures compliance with specific regulations and policies.
Responsibilities
Supervise production team, coordinate work assignments based on production schedules and available material, maintain a safe and secure work environment, evaluate individual and team performance and address morale/performance concerns
Ensure product is made to documented specifications and procedures
Review and maintain documentation to support production
Identify and implement cost saving and method improvements
Ensure designated department equipment is calibrated in accordance with procedures
Work with the Quality department to determine root causes of non-conforming products and takes appropriate action
Develop methods to track financial performance, operate within budgetary guidelines, maximize efficiency of machines and personnel, manage inventory of raw materials and work-in-process
Report production and personnel status to the production superintendent
Provide personnel guidance consistent with company human resources policies
Ensure direct reports are aware of EH&S procedures and policies specific to their area - including emergency procedures and hazard reporting procedures, implement and enforce EH&S procedures and policies uniformly and consistently, hold direct reports accountable for EH&S performance – including that they remain up-to-date on EH&S training, commend positive EH&S behavior, immediately coach and council anyone engaging in at-risk behavior, follow up on EH&S concerns until the issue is resolved
Communicate and implement EH&S activities to support the annual EH&S plan objectives and goals, communicate pending EH&S issues and status of goals, encourage employees to be involved in EH&S activities, celebrate success as EH&S goals are achieved or as actions are completed, demonstrate leadership by participating in/leading EH&S events, investigations, and audits
Follow all ISO 13485, GMP, OSHA and plant/corporate standards, policies, and procedures
Observe all safety precautions and regulations at all times in all areas where duties are performed
Report all safety incidents, hazards, and potential unsafe working conditions

Qualifications
High school diploma/GED preferred
Degree/Diploma in relevant field preferred
2+ years’ experience in related field preferred
Prior experience managing people and leading a team preferred
Understanding of FDA regulations surrounding the manufacturing of medical devices, and GMPs
Experience with Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing tools
Proficient with computers and Microsoft Office programs preferred
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize to meet deadlines
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to motivate, coach and develop others
Strong problem-solving skills
Attentive to detail
Team player – ability to work independently and with a team to accomplish goals

Anticipated salary range: $66,500 - $99,645
