Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Emergent Operations Aircraft Parts Painter (Level B or Level C) to join our Emergent Operations Fabrication Team in North Charleston, South Carolina for the 787 aircraft program on Variable Shift!

This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with basic experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting, who is able to work any shift including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends. As an Associate or Experienced Aircraft Painter, you will play a critical role in preparing airplane parts for paint. Attention to detail, knowledge of different paint types, and adherence to safety protocols are crucial in this role to achieve high-quality finishes and maintain the integrity of the aircraft. Position Responsibilities :

  • Prepares surface of aircraft parts for painting.

  • Makes necessary patterns, performs layout and applies prescribed primers, paints and finishes to aircraft parts.

  • Applies aircraft finishes and external markings to aircraft parts.

  • Identifies and communicates risks to First Line Leader.

  • Works with support organizations and First Line Leader to mitigate performance risk.

  • Documents and communicates shift turnover.

  • Responsible for monitor and control of 5S.

  • Utilizes Rapid Problem Solving (RPS) and coordinates with Line Side Control Center (LSCC) to address issues.

  • Creates standardized work instructions.

  • Support teammates to improve their job performance including identifying training.

  • Responsible for BPS process improvements.

  • This position requires an individual when working at heights to utilize fall protection equipment that has weight limitations.

  • Must obtain and maintain Fall Protection Certification.

  • Must obtain and maintain Respirator Certification.

  • Required to wear fall protection gear, safety equipment and masks.

  • Exhibits Boeing Behaviors.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at North Charleston, South Carolina.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Must be able to work variable shifts; including day, evening, night and weekends.

  • 1+ years of painting experience in aircraft, automotive, industrial, or general painting.

  • Must maintain all necessary certifications to perform the job.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 3+ years of 787 Operations experience.

  • 3+ years of aircraft paint experience.

Associate-Level B

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 1 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate).

Experienced- Level C

Typical Education/Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through basic education (e.g. High School diploma/GED) and typically 4 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. vocational school/Associate+2 years' related work, Bachelor, etc.).

Relocation:

Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.

Shift:

This position is for variable shift. Variable shift means you will be placed on a shift at the time of hire based on business needs at that time. You will remain on that shift until re-evaluation of the need.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range: Associate (Level B): $54,260- $58,230.

Summary pay range: Experienced (Level C) : $65,660-$67,020.
