Position Summary

The PI Coordinator is primarily responsible for coordinating the activities of the facility's performance improvement plans by assisting the Director of Risk Management/PI with things such as medical record audits, data entry and analysis, and compliance audits.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducts intensive reviews of targeted events.

  • Conducts camera review of incidents, patient observation rounds and other risk related matters.

  • Facilitates, develops, and provides educational programs to insure all new employees, current employees, and medical staff are aware of the Risk Management program and its relation to their specific duties/job role in identifying and reducing liability exposures.

    Qualifications

    Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field. Graduation from an accredited nursing education program. Licensed by the State (within the state in which service is being performed) to practice as a Registered Nurse.

    Skills/Experience: Must have strong organizational and time management skills and strong computer skills. Requires ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Experience with data collection, analysis, interpretation, application, and evaluation. Strategic planning skills. Hospital and Risk Management experience preferred.

    Licensure/Certification: CPI/CPR Certification required.

    HIPAA: Has access to Medical Records of cases to which they are assigned work, for quality compliance and risk related issues. Use of PHI is for purposes of Healthcare Operations.
