Role:

  • Director level, Global Commercial Lead for Eyecare; leads all aspects of developing commercial strategy for multiple future eyecare pipeline assets

  • Immediate focus will include global commercial development of a novel AAV viral-vector-delivered therapeutic targeting age-related retinal diseases

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads global commercial team as Global Commercial Lead (GCL), effectively aligns area and affiliate market needs with TA strategy & individual asset opportunity

  • Leads and collaborates across the commercial triad (GCD, Global OUS & US Commercial teams) driving consistent strategic alignment

  • Additional requirement for strong partnering ability demonstrated through co-commercial development collaborative activities with biopharmaceutical partner

  • Is a conduit between development and commercial teams, enabling information flow that optimizes asset opportunity

  • Determines global strategy and asset prioritization in close partnership with development teams and regional area leads / affiliates

  • Leads analysis of respective market & asset opportunities; identifies key segment value drivers, growth opportunities, target product profiles, product positioning & revenue potential to maximize the asset; conveys strategy at milestone executive governance meetings

  • Drives development of early brand plans; crystalizing commercial & strategic insights by synthesizing product, brand, customer, consumer, and competitive information into the development of global asset plans, including strategic positioning and early launch planning

  • Supports development of scientific platform and drives data generation to satisfy requirements for regional target product label and associated target product claims

  • Leads internal PCM, Portfolio Commercialization Model processes that accurately reflect asset opportunity and provides required analysis & support for e.g. Long Range Plan, Lifecycle Management

  • Is the eyecare commercial voice at Brand Strategy Team, Therapeutic Asset Strategy Council (TASC), and Asset Strategy Teams (AST) meetings with TA & organizational leadership

  • Develops compelling presentations to convey diverse asset strategies to broad sets of stakeholder audiences, including senior executives via governance committees

Qualifications

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of relevant experience with a successful track record in pharmaceutical marketing - strong analytical and strategic marketing skills

  • Previous experience in Commercial Development, Pipeline Management, In-line Marketing and/or Pharma Consulting roles within eyecare an advantage

  • Experience in strategic positioning of products for success within competitive environments

  • Scientific acumen & therapeutic understanding, with the ability to analyze complex datasets

Preferred:

  • Excellent communication, story-telling and presentation skills across a variety of organization levels and disciplines, including ELT, Executive Level Team members

  • Strong financial acumen with a good understanding of P&L drivers and the ability to develop appropriate investment & sales forecasts

  • Thorough understanding and/or experience of US &/or OUS market access environments

  • Experience with launch &/or on-market commercial teams an advantage

  • Experience working within matrix-based teams and project management
