Understands implications of work and makes recommendations for solutions Determines methods and procedures on new assignments. May be informal team leader As a skilled specialist, completes tasks in resourceful and effective ways Receives assignments in the form of objectives with goals and determines the process by which to meet goals Frequently interacts with peers and customers to exchange or present complex or technical information Minimum of 2 years of related experience Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Will include, but not limited to the following areas: Tests machinery and visually inspects equipment to identify any problems. Listens for unusual sounds from machines or equipment to detect malfunction; and discuss machine operation variations with supervisors, other maintenance workers, or machine operators to diagnose problem or repair machine. Performs tasks with other Maintenance personnel as needed or requested. Dismantles defective machines and equipment; and installs new or repaired parts. Cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery and fills fluid levels on machines as needed. Troubleshoots, installs and repairs electrical apparatus, such as transformers, wiring, electrical, motors, contactors, overloads, drives control circuits and other electronic components of machinery and equipment. Layouts, assembles, installs, and maintains pipe systems and related hydraulic, pneumatic, and water equipment; repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipment. Repairs and maintains physical structure of establishment. Installs, programs or repairs automated machinery and equipment, such as robots or programmable controllers. Set ups and operates machine tools, such as grinder, drill, and saws; repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools with operator and productions engineers' assistance when required. Vacuums coolant spills (oil & water) and hydraulic liquid leaks as needed. Contacts outside vendor to trouble shoot problems and order repairs parts when requested by maintenance supervisor. Creates purchase requisitions to order repair parts or tools and present to maintenance supervisor for approval. Operates forklift to transport materials within plant. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs wooden or metal items using the tools provided. Works overtime as requested by supervisor. Recognizes and complies with all safety rules. Hearing and eye protection will be worn when required. Safety shoes and safety glasses are required to be worn while in shop. Look for and recommend product and process improvements in support of corporate goals, objectives and activities.
