Insight Global Controls Test Technician in North Reading, Massachusetts

Job Description

The Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and testing control systems for electro-mechanical actuators and robots. The key duties and responsibilities include:

 Running bench-top tests for mechanical actuators, robots, and other control systems to verify proper operation and collect performance data.

 Collecting, organizing, and storing test data for analysis and record-keeping purposes.

 Utilizing software tools, such as MATLAB, to execute test plans without much supervision.

 Collaborating with engineering teams to implement control system upgrades, modifications, and new installations.

 Maintaining comprehensive documentation of all testing, troubleshooting, and optimization activities.

$40/hour to $45/hour

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401K retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.

Skills and Requirements

2-5 years of experience in a controls technician or similar role

  • Professional experience working with electro-mechanical components (robots, actuators, motors, etc.) in an industrial or manufacturing environment

     Proficient in the use of test equipment, such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, or signal generators, to diagnose and troubleshoot control system issues. Familiarity with MATLAB or similar technical computing software for data analysis.

     Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and equipment manuals.

     Demonstrating familiarity with control system components, including mechanical, electrical, and electronic parts, to efficiently diagnose and resolve hardware issues.

     Basic familiarly with Linux-based operating systems null
