Amazon Sr. Technical Program Manager, Amazon Robotics Manipulation in North Reading, Massachusetts

Our team invents and scales AI systems for robotics in fulfillment. We invent new hardware configurations and end of arm tools. We deploy software to manage fleets of robots across the world. Our team’s mission is to enable robots to interact safely, efficiently, and fluently with the clutter and uncertainty of real-world fulfillment centers. Our AI solutions enable robots to learn from their own experiences, from each other, and from humans to build intelligence that feeds itself.

We are seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to help deploy our technologies, working with teams of scientists and engineers across all robotics disciplines. The ideal candidate has deployed automation systems into production environments. They think well at the system level, but can dive into the details and work with our subject matter experts. They are extremely well organized and have a proven track record of delivering multi-disciplinary products with a high degree of technical innovation. They will work both outwards with senior management and inwards with our technical development team. You thrive in a highly collaborative, creative, analytical, and fast-paced environment in solving problems in connecting the suppliers to the customers optimally.

Key job responsibilities

Have experience with complex system design, including experience integrating hardware and software deliverables.

Drive consensus on technical decisions and ensure the appropriate resources are employed to deliver high quality results.

Act as the interface between the manipulation organization, our stakeholders and customers.

Identify, assess, track and mitigate issues and risks.

Create, maintain and disseminate project information to stakeholders.

Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple program teams with competing priorities.

Develop and drive program schedules.

Drive program planning and execution.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience working with Applied Science and Hardware teams
