Actalent R&D Project Manager in Northbrook, Illinois
Description:
This role is responsible for overseeing operational efficiency and project management for Research & Development team of a medium-sized consumer packaged goods company in the food sector. This R&D Project Manager will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a robust project management framework. This framework will encompass meticulous planning, precise execution, diligent monitoring, and successful completion of multiple projects while ensuring that they meet their objectives, are delivered on time, and satisfy the needs of stakeholders. This position focuses heavily on the technical aspects of projects, including R&D, Product Development, Quality, Packaging, Marketing, and Supply Chain. This candidate needs to be able to oversee a project from start to finish and coordinate with each of the departments listed. They will be the subject matter expert and will oversee the teams progress. Key Deliverables: - Develop and implement a robust project management framework, including documenting and providing effective frameworks tailored to different project types and complexities. - Ensure timely delivery of projects by effectively managing timelines, milestones, and project schedules, meeting or exceeding established deadlines. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create 8-10 timeline templates for various project types and product categories. These templates will streamline the process of building accurate project timelines for future projects. - Develop and present a comprehensive proposal outlining the PM's interaction with cross-functional teams. Propose the creation of Call-to-Action/Business Portfolio meetings to track milestone activities for relevant projects. - Showcase examples of presentations or reports utilized for communicating project status to stakeholders effectively. - Review the objectives of implementing the project management role within our organization and understand potential challenges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
5+ years of experience with Project Management and demonstrable expertise in problem-solving Bachelor’s degree in Sciences: Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, or similar is preferred Technical knowledge of R&D and Product Development within the Food Industry is preferred. Must have experience managing R&D projects in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry (Food Industry is Ideal) PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is highly desirable. Must have strong attention to detail, ability to work cross functionally between different teams, and communicate effectively **Ideal candidate will have 5 years of true project management and worked within R&D prior - from the Food Industry
