Clinical Lab Scientist - Microbiology
Northridge Hospital Medical Center
Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Lab Scientist to join our dynamic team in the Microbiology department. We are committed to providing high-quality patient care and fostering a collaborative and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of microbiological procedures, including:
Bacterial culture and identification
Antimicrobial susceptibility testing
Mycology and parasitology testing
Molecular diagnostics
Blood cultures
Quality control and instrument maintenance
Analyze and interpret laboratory results, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting.
Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all procedures and results.
Collaborate with other laboratory staff and healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Participate in departmental quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols.
Assist with training and mentoring of new staff members.
Qualifications
BA/BS degree required.
1 year Previous experience required.
Continuing education lectures and courses to keep knowledge current as required.
Must have experience reading different culture types and setting up cultures traditional and molecular based.
Required training in
Hematology
Chemistry
Blood Bank
Microbiology
Immunology and Serology as applicable.
California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License or Limited California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
California Clinical Immunohematologist Scientist License
California Clinical Microbiologist Scientist License are required and ASCP registry preferred.
LA Fire card is required. (Must obtain within 90 days of hire date. Classes offer at hospital)
Pay Range
$49.10 - $71.19 /hour
