EKG Tech - Electrocardiology Services

Northridge Hospital Medical Center

Northridge Hospital Medical Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced EKG Technician to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent patient interaction abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care..

Responsibilities

  • Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) on patients of all ages and varying medical conditions, ensuring accurate and timely results.

  • Prepare patients for EKG procedures, explaining the process and answering any questions.

  • Maintain accurate and complete patient records, including EKG tracings and relevant patient information.

  • Troubleshoot and maintain EKG equipment, ensuring its proper functioning.

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and infection control procedures.

  • Assist with other clinical tasks, such as vital signs monitoring or assisting with patient transport.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

  • Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Comply with all HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.

  • Any other relevant responsibilities specific to the position, e.g., stress testing, Holter monitoring

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of experience performing or monitoring electrocardiograms under direct supervision required.

  • High school graduate or equivalent is required, including a course in the physical sciences or electrocardiography.

  • Certified course in electrocardiography or courses in basic arrhythmia recognition is required.

  • Muse, Rumba, AS400 , Windows NT.

  • AHA BLS

  • Fire Safety Card required. (must obtain within 90 days of start date)

This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.

Pay Range

$27.33 - $34.24 /hour
