About The Role:
Bowery Farming is seeking a Lead Agriculture Technical Assistant who will be supporting the daily growing operations in our indoor vertical farms. You will be responsible for managing the daily operations of AgTechs along with independently executing small projects from ideation to completion with minimum support. You will be responsible for effective daily system audits, and maintaining grow room compliance. You will operate in a multidisciplinary environment with engineers, computer scientists, agricultural scientists, and other functions, and your work will meaningfully impact the evolution of the indoor agriculture industry.
What You'll Do:
Escalate observations and concerns with plant health, environment conditions, and agricultural system functionality
Work closely with the Grower and Systems Manager to develop tactical actions related to crop trials, root cause analysis, and support with the coordination of AgTech and material resources
Perform all roles and responsibilities of AgTech independently, consistently, and reliably
Support training of AgTechs for safety, operations, auditing, data collection, and procedures
Organize and prepare data sets, perform basic analyses and prepare material and slides to support reporting
Collaborate with other departments in planning routine data collection and experiments
Prepare weekly reports on crop health and systems status, farm log maintenance, and perform key note taker responsibilities at all relevant meetings
Lead reporting of water quality metrics and provide recommendations to Ag Systems Manager
Maintain Farm Logs including all events impacting Y&Q
Provide constructive additions to project proposals and plans
Provide day to day direction to Ag Techs regarding flow of work
Take on independent projects from a grower - data collection & analysis
Connect closely with farm ops to address any information gap

You have excellent verbal, written & interpersonal skills
You maintain a high level of productivity, are adept at managing multiple workstreams, and know when to escalate for support
You enjoy working with passionate team members and are effective at training and leading others
Creating and maintaining a safe working environment is critical to you
You get itchy when the details don’t match up & keep a sharp eye out for trends
Farming & growing operations experience, or previous role in HVAC, equipment installation/maintenance, or lab work preferred
