Vibe Credit Union Director of Facilities & Construction in Novi, Michigan

Position Purpose

The Director of Facilities and Construction will lead and oversee the maintenance and operations of building facilities, facility budget, strategic projects, including all facility and construction projects. This includes new building construction, reinvestment projects, lease management, etc. The Director will be responsible for managing the oversite of construction and renovation projects, including ensuring compliance with building codes

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand the planning, design, and execution of construction and renovation endeavors.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with architectural, engineering, and contracting partners, in addition to internal leadership, ensuring projects are delivered with unswerving adherence to timelines, budgetary allocations, and quality benchmarks.
  • Knowledge and experience in managing construction budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring projects are completed within budget.
  • Identify, negotiate, and manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers. Monitor vendor performance and ensure all service level agreements are met.
  • Oversee space planning and allocation to maximize efficiency and optimize the utilization of available space and create effective workspace solutions.
  • Engage and oversee external vendors, contractors, and suppliers. Exemplify adept negotiation process while upholding uncompromising standards of work quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise and coordinate the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of all facilities, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural systems. Ensure that facilities are well-maintained, safe, and compliant with relevant regulations.
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, tracking expenses, controlling costs, and making recommendations for cost-effective improvements. Prioritize spending to ensure optimal resource allocation.
  • Adherence with regulatory compliance and regulations related to facilities management and ensure organizational compliance. Obtain necessary permits and approvals as required.
  • Implement and enforce security protocols, emergency response plans, and health and safety policies. Regularly assess potential risks and implement measures to mitigate them.
  • Effectively communicate with senior management and department heads regarding facilities-related matters. Prepare regular reports on facilities performance, maintenance activities, and budgetary status.
  • Lead and mentor the facilities team, including managers, coordinators, and staff. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work culture

Qualifications

  • Significant experience in the construction industry, project management, or success in overseeing large-scale construction projects.
  • Proven experience in facilities management 5+ years.
