The Director of Regulatory Compliance will develop, lead, and manage strategic direction for the organization's Regulatory Compliance while engaging and inspiring Regulatory Compliance team members to provide exceptional support and direction to internal and external customers. Serves as a Regulatory Compliance subject matter expert and the company’s point of contact for all Regulatory Compliance, with the objective of ensuring compliance with regulatory agencies. Promotes and reinforces building of a strong culture of compliance throughout Learning Care Group.

Job Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Set strategic direction and proactively diagnose, analyze, and resolve compliance and licensing issues to improve the overall regulatory compliance and maintenance of school licenses.

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of industry-specific regulations, standards, and best practices.

  • Continuously evaluate, monitor, and inform stakeholders of changes in licensing regulations and in city, county, state, and other municipality requirements to ensure the Company remains compliant.

  • Lead team of Regulatory Compliance Managers to continuously improve compliance in assigned geographies.

  • Build and maintain relationships with state Licensing offices/consultants to deliver timely results for all applicable school projects and improve overall agency relations.

  • Support executive and senior leadership with decision-making that will impact change and result in higher quality licensing and regulatory compliance by providing analytical reasoning, reporting, and actionable recommendations.

  • Oversee the review, completion, and approval of licensing, health department, sanitation, fire and other regulatory applications, renewals, invoices, and forms and submit to appropriate agency.

  • Oversee all licensing and agency compliance transition activities related to the integration of new schools including acquisitions, new builds, and refurbishments as well as product rollouts aimed at improving overall Customer Experience.

  • Serves as the business owner for Compliance Central or other compliance reporting solution and manage other databases that support Regulatory Compliance.

  • Independently identify and implement changes as needed to ensure Company compliance goals are met while partnering with various Support Central departments, including but not limited to Legal, Human Resources, Marketing, Facilities, Risk Management, etc.

  • Assists with other duties as directed by supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage and direct staff (including managers and supervisors) including recruitment, selection, and development to achieve Company goals and objectives.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • At least 5 years of related compliance or licensing experience in child care / early childhood education.

  • At least 5 years management/supervisory experience.

  • Ability to travel up to 25%.

  • Maintain keen aptitude and knowledge of State licensing rules and regulations.

  • Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives and broader organizational goals.

Travel Percentage:

  • 25%
