The temporary Compensation Specialist will provide compensation support and assistance to LCG employees and management. This position will require extensive teamwork working in a service-focused department.
This is a temporary assignment that is expected to run through September.
The job of temporary Compensation Specialist can be performed in the following states: AL, AZ, AR, CT, DE, FL, GA, ID, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, ME, MD, MA, MI, MN, MO, NE, NV, NJ, NM, NC, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TX, UT, VA, WI, and WY.
Essential Functions/Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Meet/exceed the customer’s (internal and external) expectations by understanding, anticipating and meeting customer needs. Exhibit proactive communication; act and think with the customers in mind.
Friendly, enthusiastic and energetic with customers, co-workers, managers, and visitors. Promote and project a positive company image; treats others with courtesy and respect.
Regular, in person attendance at designated company site is required to ensure necessary teamwork, personal interaction, and supervision.
Provide approvals and gather appropriate documentation for field new hire/rehires via the Pay Rate Development Sheet (PRDS) process, while adhering to Compensation guidelines.
Review requests for pay rate changes for conformance to organizational policy which includes but is not limited to verifying documentation of education/certifications
Evaluate and resolve compensation issues or questions on a timely basis using established procedures, ensuring confidentiality of information.
Prepare and release reports showing average wage rates, hiring trends and other compensation data as requested to ensure proper knowledge and decision making by field management.
Respond to incoming first level Compensation phone and email inquiries and escalate second level issues to the appropriate party.
Assist Compensation department with any activities as needed (i.e., salary survey participation, merit processing, bonus/incentive calculations, mail merges etc.) as well as any other ad hoc duties as assigned.
Assists with other duties as directed by supervisor.
Education:
High school diploma required, AA in Business or ECE area preferred.
Experience:
Minimum 1 - 2 years related experience in a Business/Human Resources or ECE environment
Skills & Abilities (i.e. technical, knowledge, etc.):
Must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation, all essential functions of the job
Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with both internal and external customers
Function well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Must have strong PC skills, including Excel spreadsheet knowledge
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
Able to efficiently handle conflict/complaints and resolve problems quickly and appropriately
Excellent time management, organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities
Knowledge of ECE/Elementary Education environment in terms of common education and certifications requirements
