Job Summary: The HR Generalist is responsible for supporting a wide variety of HR activities for the Mexico entity, including recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and ensuring compliance with federal and local labor laws. This role contributes to fostering a positive and productive work environment and advises managers and supervisors on all Mexico HR practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures
Collaborate with U.S.-based People Operations counterparts to share best practices and maintain consistency
Advise and assist management and employees on labor-related issues, such as employment contracts, termination, compensation, and benefits
Maintain accurate employee records, including personnel files, training records, and documentation
Handle sensitive employee information with confidentiality and follow data protection regulations
Manage full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding
Prepare recruitment metrics reports, including time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and candidate pipeline
Oversee employee benefits administration
Assist employees with Employee Self Service access, including password resets or information updates
Ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, including wages, deductions, and benefits
Draft, renew, and maintain employment contracts, ensuring compliance
Provide support on payroll inquiries and issues
Enforce compliance with Mexican labor laws and company policies
Regularly review and update processes to align with legal requirements and best practices
Other duties as needed to meet business needs
Qualifications:
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Bilingual in English and Spanish with excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
Proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced team environment
Ability to effectively interact with and influence all organizational levels
Able to work independently while prioritizing and multi-tasking to meet deadlines
Experience developing and managing company-wide programs
Knowledge of Mexico labor laws and regulations
Experience processing payroll
Proficiency with HRIS and talent management systems
Skilled in electronic communications and Microsoft Office Suite
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in human resources, preferably as a generalist
Strong integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Customer service focused, able to work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred Education and Experience:
Previous experience with human resources information systems (HRIS)
Human Resources Certification, e.g., PHR, SPHR, SHRM
