Overview

Cypress Creek Renewables is looking to hire a Fund Manager/ Sr. Fund Manager. This role will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of our operational solar projects. This role will be responsible for managing financing agreements including but not limited to loan and tax equity agreements, cash waterfalls, fund cash budgets and forecasts, and ensuring compliance with financial covenants. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial administration, project finance, and renewable energy, with exceptional attention to detail and analytical skill.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid understanding of financing structures and agreements

  • Expertise in financial modeling and analysis

  • Self-sufficiency and problem-solving ability to figure out where to gather financial data and effectively communicate results/bigger picture.

  • Strong project management skills with an ability to manage multiple, concurrent projects to meet deadlines.

  • Experience with collaboration and consensus building across functions.

  • Desire to proactively engage with business partners to identify opportunities for business process improvements and cost savings.

  • Learning agility, intellectual curiosity, and adaptability in assuming new responsibilities and handling unfamiliar material.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fund waterfalls for operating funds, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in updating actuals and forecasts. Establish a monthly cadence with asset managers to review and update forecasts, addressing any changes in working capital needs promptly

  • Monitor cash flows, liquidity, and funding requirements to ensure timely debt service payments and cash distributions to investors and stakeholders

  • Calculate cash distributions, and other financial obligations for the fund; optimize cash distributions to CCR corporate through proactive liquidity and cash management and oversight of compliance with distribution tests in financing agreements

  • Coordinate with asset managers to execute debt service payments and cash distributions in accordance with contractual agreements

  • Monitor fund’s cash reserves and LCs for optimized least-cost collateral cover

  • Lead valuation analysis for tax equity buyouts and support negotiations with investors

  • Collaborate with FP&A and Asset managers and prepare annual cash budgets for the funds

  • Improve upon existing fund management practices and fund waterfall files and processes through automation and data analytics.

  • Support all corporate and project transactional due diligence; lead transition of financing/tax equity closing models to asset management and setup of tracking models and partnership yield/flip analyses

  • Manage the relationships with the tax equity investors and lenders across solar and BESS projects

  • Manage/ support ad-hoc reporting needs as requested from internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in portfolio/fund management, project finance, or related roles in the renewable energy industry

  • Strong understanding of project finance and tax equity structures

  • Proficiency in financial analysis and modeling

  • Experience in renewables strongly preferred.

  • High level of proficiency in Excel is required

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems

  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.

  • Knowledge of renewable energy industry trends, regulations, and best practices is a plus

Locations: The ideal candidate will be east coast based, preferably in NYC, Washington DC or Durham, NC office and is able to go into the office on a hybrid schedule (2x/week) or remote for the right candidate

Compensation: The salary range for the position is 120,000-165,000 plus bonus and benefits. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
