The incumbent uses various tools, testing instruments and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust and troubleshoot various pieces of electrical equipment and components. Responsible for the care of the equipment and tools necessary to perform such work. Keeps Lead and Supervisor appraised of unique situations and problems encountered. This position has a competitive wage of $53.19 per hr. Benefits include: $9.00 per hour for Health and Welfare, $7.30 per hour 401(k) contribution (both capped at 40 hours per week), 11 paid holidays, and PTO starting a 10 hours per month. The shop personnel have a contract year clothing and/or ANSI compliant safety shoes allowance as per the CBA. Work Model: Onsite Responsibilities Essential Duties & Job Functions: Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. Installs or repairs any of a variety of electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other distribution equipment. Works from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications. Locates and diagnoses trouble in the electrical system or equipment. Works standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment. Uses a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments. Work of the maintenance electrician requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Troubleshoots and evaluates electrical systems. Inspects work to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, policies, and regulations. In a scheduled rotation be available on-call within one hour after the Government's request to respond to emergency situations during or after hours, holidays and weekends for the purpose of resolving immediate concerns. Must be able to work overtime as required. Other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Mandatory: High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED). Journeyman Licensed Electrician (with valid and current Washington State EL01 Electrical Journeyman's Certification).
