MaineGeneral Health Athleitic Training Coord - AYCC in Oakland, Maine

Job Summary:Coordinates and manages the activities and flow of work for the sports medicine program including managing needed supplies, maintenance of available modalities and equipment to ensure patient safety, manages schedule to optimize patient access, creation and implementation of marketing materials, and promote sports medicine/affiliated programs.

Job Description:

Provides Athletic Training services for professional, amateur, and recreational athletes including injury recognition, assessment, treatment, rehabilitation, and prevention while evaluating and managing injuries or conditions to determine whether a referral is necessary. Make patient referrals when appropriate.

Acts as a liaison, as directed by referral, between a patient’s healthcare provider and fitness specialists to facilitate a safe transition to an independent exercise program. This includes orientation of new participants to the facility, use of equipment, availability of programs, and follow up assessments, as needed.

Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams to promote, develop, and assist with implementation of new and ongoing services which improve the health of active individuals. This may include problem identification and resolution, cost containment, and systems/performance measures.

Facilitates the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of programs or area services and initiatives within the scope of Athletic Training that provides education, awareness, or improvement of health for active individuals.

Facilitates the development of practice standards and measurable outcomes based on performance evaluation and research. Maintains proper medical documentation and communication between the patient and their healthcare provider, as appropriate.
