We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to join our team. This role involves software integration and configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance, software development and modifications, reading and interpreting electrical schematics, providing customer support, and documentation and reporting. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement software and electrical updates and improvements.
Responsibilities
Load software into Centerless Grinders and ensure proper integration with control systems.
Configure and optimize servo drives to ensure precision and efficiency in grinding operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues with electrical circuits, control systems, and machine performance.
Conduct regular diagnostics and preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of equipment.
Develop, modify, and optimize control software in Visual Studio C# for machine interfaces and operational enhancements.
Develop, modify, and optimize PLC software using IEC-3 (Ladder Diagram, Structured Text, Function Block Diagram, Instruction List, or Sequential Function Chart).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement software and electrical updates and improvements.
Read, interpret, and modify electrical schematics for troubleshooting and system configuration.
Ensure that all electrical systems comply with safety and operational standards.
Provide timely and professional troubleshooting assistance to customers over the phone.
Address technical issues related to control systems, software, and electrical circuits, offering practical solutions and guidance.
Create detailed documentation for software modifications, machine configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.
Maintain accurate logs of customer interactions, machine performance, and technical resolutions.
Essential Skills
PLC programming
HMI programming
Programming in Visual Studio C#
Troubleshooting industrial automation systems
Industrial circuitry troubleshooting
Mechatronics
Control systems engineering
Reading and interpreting electrical schematics
Experience with Rockwell, Allen Bradley, Siemens PLCs, Ladder Logic, and Fanuc
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in controls engineering, preferably with industrial machinery (Centerless Grinders a plus).
Experience with Visual Studio C# and other programming languages is a plus.
Work Environment
This is an office-based engineering role that involves splitting time between a desk, where you will be programming, and the shop floor, where you will be troubleshooting equipment, circuitry, servo drives, and HMIs. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $55.00
