Brand Momentum In-Store Sampling Representative in Oakville, Ontario

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dynamic and outgoing Food Handler Certified In-Store Sampling Representative/Brand Associate to join our team. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about interacting with customers, promoting brands, and creating memorable shopping experiences. The representative will be responsible for conducting in-store product demonstrations, sampling food and toys, and engaging with customers to drive product awareness and sales within a Big Box store.

Locations: must be comfortable rotating between both locations for the first 4 weeks for orientation)

Start Date: Nov 1st (3 month contract with potential to extend based on performance)

  • MILTON (1280 STEELES AVE E L9T 6R1)

Schedule: Friday from 3p-9p, Saturday and Sunday from 2p-8p - with a chance of additional weekday shifts (ideally We and Th)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Demonstrations: Set up and execute in-store sampling events to showcase food products and toys, providing customers with hands-on experiences and product samples.

  • Customer Engagement: Actively engage with shoppers, offering product information, answering questions, and encouraging purchases.

  • Product Knowledge: Gain a thorough understanding of the brands and products being promoted to effectively communicate their benefits to customers.

  • Setup and Cleanup: Efficiently organize and set up product displays, demonstration tables, and sampling stations. Ensure proper sanitation and food safety protocols are followed when handling food samples.

  • Sales Support: Support the sales process by directing interested customers to the appropriate aisles or sections for purchasing the products.

  • Compliance: Follow company guidelines and store policies, ensuring that all demonstrations meet legal, health, and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • MUST BE FOOD HANDLER CERTIFIED

  • Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with diverse customers and communicate product benefits clearly and enthusiastically.

  • Customer Service-Oriented: A friendly and approachable personality with a focus on delivering excellent customer service.

  • Organizational Skills: Capable of setting up and managing sampling stations efficiently.

  • Attention to Detail: Adherence to safety and hygiene protocols, especially when handling food samples.

  • Sales-Driven: A proactive approach to promoting products and driving sales through engaging demonstrations.

  • Physical Ability: Able to stand for extended periods and lift products or promotional materials (up to 25 lbs).

  • Previous Experience: Experience in retail, promotions, or customer service is preferred but not required. Training will be provided.

Work Environment:

  • Work will take place inside stores during peak shopping hours.

  • Evening and weekend shifts required

  • Employees will be expected to wear branded uniforms during demonstrations.
