Robert Half Assistant Controller in Oakwood Village, Ohio
Description In this Assistant Controller role, you will utilize your problem solving skills by taking initiative to identity and resolve problems. One of the Assistant Controller's tasks include supervising the accounting staff and reporting updates to the Controller. Major responsibilities
Backfill for Controller as necessary
Prepare a variety of technical accounting analyses, policies, and procedures
Support implementation and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
Discern and establish process improvements to streamline reporting and improve team efficiency
Help lead the accounting team during the closing process to ensure deadlines are met
Assist to ensure a competent, trained staff through goal setting, development, and regular assessment
Other duties as assigned
Guarantee regular account reconciliation to completion
Seasoned preparation and coordination of fiscal year-end audits
Create accountability and the meeting of deliverables
Pitch in to the preparation of GAAP financial statements, including budgeting and forecasting
Create relevant and timely reports on financial data analytics like the monthly flash report, key financial metrics, and actual spend against budgets/outlook
Test and produce Ad Hoc financial reports Requirements - Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
CPA certification a plus
Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
- Previous accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
Strong technical background in public accounting (GAAP)
Strong familiarity with Financial Statement
Audited Financial Statements experience
General familiarity with Balance Sheet Account
Adeptness in Accounts Payable (AP)
Demonstrated knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
Solid understanding of Analyze Financial Statements
Month end closings experience
Accounts Payable (AP) experience highly desired
Practical knowledge of Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation
Balance Sheet Reconciliation experience highly preferred
Exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
- Thorough knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
