Job Description

This position will be based in Odesa office, with daily work in Kherson oblast.

JOB SUMMARY:

Clinical Psychologistwill provide specialized psychological consultations and counseling to individuals with moderate to severe mental health conditions in community or home settings, as well as conduct group sessions and psychoeducation, assessing other vulnerabilities through work inside MHPSS Mobile Units. Furthermore, will deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) and remote consultations, as needed, perform structured clinical assessments, maintain strict confidentiality in documentation, manage emergencies, make referrals, and participate in MH case management meetings.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide specialized psychological consultations and individual counseling to beneficiaries with moderate to severe mental health conditions in community or home settings.

• Conduct group or awareness sessions and psychoeducation in community or home settings.

• Assess specific vulnerabilities of beneficiaries through MHPSS Mobile Units and develop tailored case management strategies accordingly.

• In close collaboration with Nurse, work on ensuring physical and mental health and wellbeing for most vulnerable beneficiaries, through daily home-visits.

• Deliver Psychological First Aid (PFA) as needed and conduct remote psychological consultations via phone.

• Perform structured clinical assessments and formulate clear case plans based on cognitive, behavioral, and emotional needs.

• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure organized documentation of intake assessments, evaluations, reviews, and follow-up actions.

• Manage emergency cases effectively, make appropriate referrals, and participate actively in MH case management meetings.

• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided while maintaining client confidentiality.

• Actively participate in case supervision meetings with MHPSS Manager and MHPSS Specialist.

• Perform any other tasks deemed necessary by the supervisor to support MHPSS program objectives.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• At least bachelor’s degree Psychology or higher (M.A., MS, PsyD, or PhD).

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in practicing clinical psychology and delivering specialized psychological consultations in a humanitarian setting through an NGO.

• Previous experience in health programs and NGO experience are preferred.

• Knowledge of and experience in clinical supervision, and training,

• Knowledge of and experience of inter-agency standards and guidelines in MHPSS, such as IASC Guidelines on Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergency Settings.

• Solid understanding of protection principles, case management and client-centered care in humanitarian settings.

• Fluency in Ukrainian and Russian is required, and basic knowledge in English is desirable.

• Proficiency in IT skills, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, is essential for tasks such as data collection, mapping updates, and providing detailed weekly reports on outreach activities.

REPORTING LINES

• Position reports to MHPSS Manager.

• Closely collaborate with Other members of MHPSS Mobile Unit (Nurse, Social Worker and Psychiatrist), Senior Health Officer, MHPSS Specialist and Protection Teams working in the area.
