Job Duties and Qualifications
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse management and control functions for the area of supervision. The supervisor manages staff and day-to-day operations, coordinates training for staff and employees, and makes sure that all shipping / receiving and cycle count processes are accurate and optimized.
Tasks And Responsibilities
Manage and oversee all aspects of the warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving, physical inventory verification, and operational efficiency
Directly responsible for warehouse management HSE programs, promotes safe working environment, and ensures reporting procedures for incidents are followed
Supervise and lead a team of warehouse employees, including scheduling, training, and performance management
Develop and implement processes and procedures to improve warehouse efficiency and accuracy, including CI (continuous improvement) initiatives, inventory tracking, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as federal and state regulations.
Develop and maintain positive relationships with vendors, customers, and other stakeholders
Monitor and analyze warehouse performance metrics and make recommendations for improvements
Profile and Experience
Undergraduate (bachelor’s) degree in business administration, materials management, industrial distribution, engineering, or similar discipline required
Minimum of 4 years of experience in a warehouse management leadership role with a proven track record of success
Knowledge of the financial impact of inventory, warehouse inventory and cycle counting analysis, warehouse organization, and counting frequency is required
Ability to speak and write English is required
The ability to perform intermediate mathematical calculations involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division is required
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Experience utilizing an ERP & warehousing system is required, SAP knowledge is preferred
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
Strong customer service and continuous improvement mindset
