Responsibilities*

 

  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematics for the layout of pipes and equipment.

  • Measure and mark pipes for cutting or threading.

  • Use specialized machinery and equipment to cut or bend pipes to specified dimensions.

  • Join and seal pipes through welding, threading, or using mechanical seals.

  • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structures to ensure quality and safety.

  • Maintain equipment and machinery by ensuring cleanliness and performing minor repairs.

  • Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other tradespeople to ensure efficient and safe work processes.

  • Inspect and prepare sites for construction operations.

  • Weld, assemble, and lubricate pipes.

  • Test the functionality of hydraulic and other systems.

  • Repair malfunctions, breakages, or leaks.

  • Use and maintain tools properly.

    • Collaborate with other workers to complete the finished project.
Responsibilities
**Requirements and Skills**  

  • Proven experience as a pipe welder

  • Knowledge of health and safety guidelines when working with hazardous equipment or chemicals

  • Strong numerical and problem-solving skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

  • Willingness to work full-time shifts and/or overtime as needed

  • Certification as a pipe welder

  • Ability to read and interpret project plans, blueprints, and other written instructions and diagrams to complete tasks effectively

  • Proficient in cutting, shaping, and welding materials according to project specifications

  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols

  • Measure and mark workpieces using tools such as straightedges, rules, and calipers

  • Clean and degrease weld joints or workpieces in an efficient manner

  • Inspect machinery and project components for malfunctions and defects

  • Monitor fitting, burning, and welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, shrinking, distortion, or expansion of materials

    • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and ensure all equipment is safe for operation.
