BANK OF UTAH Mortgage Loan Closer in OGDEN, Utah

Review loan files and prepare closing packages for individual loan types in accordance with lender, and investor guidelines as well as secondary marketing commitments. Ensures Closing Disclosure is prepared according to TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure (TRID) regulatory guidelines; including all timing requirements. Timely prepares closing packages to meet aggressive timing and volume requirements. Understand and be able to fund mortgage loan files as needed.

Experience/Skills necessary to perform duties:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 1+ years mortgage experience or related experience
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong mathematical skills
  • Familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel programs
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment typical to mortgage lending
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Regular Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Validates and prepares closing packages according to Lock Confirmation, Lock Agreement, and Loan Closing Requests.
  • Ensures that loan can be closed and disbursed before lock expires.
  • Reviews Loan Approval and makes certain all underwriting conditions have been (or will be) met
  • Ensures Closing Disclosure is prepared according to TRID guidelines, including timing requirements, cures, etc.
  • Meet or exceed aggressive turn time and volume requirements
  • Seeks out help to resolve technical and complex problems that arise in order to meet deadlines
  • Understand title commitments and how to properly deal with any exceptions, easements, etc.
  • Ensures evidence of insurance meets investor guidelines for dwelling coverage amount, deductible, time of coverage, etc.
  • Reviews Flood Certification and verifies compliance with flood regulations, if applicable
  • Verifies mortgage insurance coverage, if applicable
  • FHA refinances, verifies netting information
  • On Abundance of Caution or Additional Collateral properties, ensures collateral will be properly secured and rescission rights properly disclosed and executed, if applicable
  • Alternate between many files in process; must be able to start, stop, restart without losing focus or accuracy
  • Keeps production and title updated at certain mile stones in the closing/funding process
  • Follows up on the return closing package from title company in a timely manner
  • Performs Funding job as needed
  • Follows up on any investor suspense item requests in a timely manner
  • Carries out other duties that may be assigned or requested

The wage listed is within the range associated with this position. Actual Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
