CHMC – Physician Practice Management-Medical Assistant – Per Diem- Day Shift- Requisition 7131

The Medical Assistant will be part of the team concept in the Center’s health delivery system, which is devoted to the delivery of primary care in an ambulatory setting with emphasis on prevention and health maintenance. Assist the nurse and other clinical staff in performing their duties and carrying on the necessary functions required in accordance with established policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but not limited to; rooming patients, measuring vital signs, performing ECG’s, phlebotomy, returning patient phone calls and referral and tracking management. Care is provided in an efficient and safe manner consistent with the CHMC standard of care. Required to float to other Health Centers. Locations include Huevelton, Waddington, Ogdensburg, and Canton. Scheduled shifts will fluctuate and vary dependent on operational needs; shift start and end times will range accordingly from 7:00am-7:00pm. Schedule may include working a weekend on a rotational basis.

Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent is required. Two (2) years of patient care experience is required. BLS Certification. Valid Medical Assistant Certification is preferred. Education and training in basic medical terminology is preferred. Valid NYS Driver’s License.
