Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:A minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university.3-5 years' related experience in program development or career services.Supervisory experience.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proven track record of developing and implementing workforce development initiatives, training programs, or employee engagement strategies within a higher education or public sector environment.Experience in business or project management, with instructional experience.Ability to conceptualize future trends, opportunities, barriers, and solutions to enable the college's success and growth in continuing education and corporate training.Comprehensive understanding of workforce development best practices, talent management strategies, and professional development methodologies.Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to make informed decisions and drive continuous improvement.Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with various internal entities: faculty, staff, students and leadership, as well as external organizations and stakeholders, and community leaders.Ability to manage change and ambiguity, and possess the ability to make thoughtful, informed decisions in a fast-paced environment.Experience in budgeting and resource allocation.Valid driver's license required. Must have and maintain the appropriate valid driver's license; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations.Ability to travel to and from meetings, training sessions, or other business-related events.Occasional after-hours and weekend work may be required.Preferred Qualifications:Master's degree from an accredited college/university.3-5 years' experience in Higher Education in the development of curricular and/or co-curricular community engaged learning programs/courses.Experience defining return on investment (ROI) and concrete measurements of success.Experience working with a culturally diverse student population.

Duties Description The Director of Workforce Development will work with the community and businesses to develop, lead, and manage the workforce development program of SUNY Old Westbury. This will include job training services, programs and microcredentials. The Director will oversee and guide training and programming customized for corporate and community partners.This is a full-time, twelve (12) month, two-year, grant funded position. This position requires onsite presence and is not eligible for remote or hybrid arrangements.Reporting to the Provost, the Director of Workforce Development will:Oversee, manage, and lead the workforce development staff and programs.Develop an annual strategic and enrollment plan with assessment.Enhance workforce development programs through the delivery of job-readiness courses and industry-specific information for students.Expand business partnerships to provide a range of career services, including work-based learning opportunities, internships, and employment opportunities for graduates.Develop and maintain relationships with employers in fields that support the University's areas of study.Maintain knowledge of employer expectations, marketing trends, and emerging job sectors.Develop and implement policies, procedures, and guidelines for the college's program, and monitor and evaluate their effectiveness.Develop and implement strategies for measurable achievement in critical program outputs or outcomes that directly contribute to meeting strategic plan goals and objectives.Develop budgets for operating, managing, and marketing the department toward a self-sustaining budget model.
