Digital Workplace Systems Administrator

Role purpose
The Digital Workplace Systems Administrator will be responsible for managing, implementing, and supporting Active Directory and related identity management solutions. This role requires deep technical expertise in Windows Server environments, Active Directory and related, along with a strong background in system administration, security, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of handling complex IT projects and providing high-level technical support.
Key responsibilities
Active Directory Operations
Administer AD infrastructure, including user account management, group policies, and organizational units.Implement and manage AD security measures, including access controls and authentication protocols.Perform regular maintenance and updates to ensure AD reliability and security.Troubleshoot and resolve AD-related issues promptly.
Device Deployment and Management
Deploy, configure, and maintain Windows devices organization-wide..Ensure devices adhere to organizational standards and policies.Provide support for device-related issues, ensuring high availability and performance.
Systems Management and Monitoring
Monitor and maintain the health of IT systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Use monitoring tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.Implement and maintain automation scripts to streamline system management.Ensure regular backups and robust recovery processes are in place.
Software Retirement and Standardization
Standardize software to improve manageability, security and optimize portfolio.Use tools like Intune, Autopilot, System Center Configuration Manager for software deployment, updates, and patch management.
Vulnerability Management
Conduct regular vulnerability assessments on Windows clients and servers.Implement and manage remediation plans to resolve security issues.
Documentation and Reporting
Create and maintain documentation for all systems management processes.
Skills
Professional Experience
At least 2-3 years of experience as a system administrator or in a similar role, focusing on Windows Server and Active Directory includin Azure Cloud services.
Technical Expertise
Experience in data center transformations across on-premises, cloud, and edge environments.Deep understanding of IT infrastructure, operating systems, virtual systems, and IT application backups.Proficient in cloud computing and virtualization principles, responsibilities, and security implications.
Infrastructure Architecture
Knowledge of Infrastructure Architecture frameworks and principles for storage, systems, and resources, both on-premises and cloud-based.
Risk Management and Contingency Planning:
Skilled in risk management, business impact analysis, countermeasures, and contingency planning for IT service disruptions.
Certifications and Additional Skills
ITIL Certification (highly desirable).
Experience with AD, Microsoft Deployment Tools
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
