HealthPartners ED Advanced Practice Provider in Olivia, Minnesota

ABOUT THE JOB The Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider provides personal, direct primary care to patients with acute and/or chronic illnesses in collaboration with physicians. The APP assesses individual/families using history, physical exam and appropriate diagnostic tests/x-rays. This position formulates, implements and evaluates patient care management according to practice guidelines. This positions also assists individuals/families to mobilize strengths in dealing with well health maintenance, self-care skills, adaptation to illness and health promotion, death/grief and bereavement. Responsibilities: Assess patient to determine physical and emotional needs. Obtains complete medical history and physical data on patients. Order appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed. Performs a complete physical exam and records findings. Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients. Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Synthesizes data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing principles of prevention. Prescribes and administers medications and injections according to physician directions. Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information. Posts tests and examination results. Performs procedures approved within scope of practice and as instructed by physician. Interviews and advises patients regarding health and illness prevention. Instructs patients regarding medications and treatment instructions. Networks with health team members by communicating data based on diagnosis to provide continuity of care. ABOUT YOU Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program MN APRN license and certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner by a national agency recognized by the MN Board of Nursing (Nurse Practitioner only) Physician Assistant certification from the National Committee for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and licensed by the MN Board of Medical Practice (Physician Assistant only) Basic Life Support (BLS) (preferred) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (preferred) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) or Cardiac Advanced Life Support (CALS) DEA Able to read, analyze and interpret medical records, including lab results, radiological results and progress notes Able to respond to common inquires or complaints from patients Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Able to effectively multitask and deal with high levels of stress Able to utilize electronic medical record effectively ABOUT OLIVIA HOSPITAL & CLINIC Located in west central Minnesota, Olivia Hospital & Clinic is one of the leading employers in Renville County.
