Centene Corporation Senior Database Administrator in Olympia, Washington

Position Purpose: Administers, maintains, develops and implements the company database and data warehouses. Implements and monitors database access and configurations. Resolves database performance and capacity issues. Performs database recovery and backup. Supports capacity planning and performs some development work.
Performs database design, maintenance, technical support, installation, and upgrades
Creates models for new database development and/or changes to existing models
Monitors, optimizes, and request physical data storage for database systems
Monitors daily database operational tasks that include configurations, performance, backup, and recovery and manage data in a secure system environment
Resolves any database performance issues, provides 24/7 database support, ensures high levels of system availability, and follows escalation procedures to report to business users and management
Identifies and implements improvement procedures to ensure efficiency in execution time and performance.
Provides support and assistance during patching, maintenance, upgrades, and other related activities associated with operating an application
Partners with application development staff to create database architectures, coding standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures
Designs and implements redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets
Maintains database product/service catalog; plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
Recommends new database products, services, protocols, and standards in support of procurement and development efforts
Installs and configures relevant network components to ensure database access as well as database consistency and integrity
Resolve database access and performance issues
Provides on-call support as required
Performs other duties as assigned
Complies with all policies and standards
Working with pricing operations of the configuration department within the CA Health Plan
Education/Experience: A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or business field (e.g., statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science).
Requires 4 – 6 years of related experience.
Or equivalent experience acquired through accomplishments of applicable knowledge, duties, scope and skill reflective of the level of this position.

Pay Range: $83,600.00 - $155,000.00 per year

Actual pay will be adjusted based on an individual's skills, experience, education, and other job-related factors permitted by law. Total compensation may also include additional forms of incentives.
