    Position Summary

The Mental Health Support Aide (Teacher Counselor Aide) assists in developing, implementing, and monitoring individual and group treatment plans and procedures to improve social/interpersonal functioning and high rates of successful program completion for assigned youth. This position assures staff are attending to the safety, health, and well-being of youth in a trauma informed manner and environment. The Mental Health Support Aide (Teacher Counselor Aide) resides with assigned youth and offers flexible hours and shifts.

Shift schedules currently needed:

  • Sunday 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, Monday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Tuesday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Wednesday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm

  • Saturday 7:00 am to 11:00 pm, Friday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Thursday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Wednesday 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm.

    Qualification

  • Clearances. State Police/FBI clearance per state regulation; Child Abuse Registry clearance; any additional background checks/clearances required by state governing bodies.

  • Valid driver’s license and current vehicle insurance.

    Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands. Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate to high level of physical activity including; sitting, standing, walking lifting and carrying as required. Must be able to meet the demands and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI).

  • Environmental Factors. Indoors/Outdoors: Residential treatment facility, school, home, community.

  • Working Hours. Full-Time, variable schedule based on program need.

Education

Required

  • High School or better

Experience

Preferred

  • Experience working with youth or families.
