Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the medical trades (Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant), Automobile trades (Auto Body and Auto Technician), Construction Trades (Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical), and our advanced trades (Overhead Line, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and our Drone Program). Position Available: Academic Instructor ON-CALL SUBSTITUTEWe are seeking an ON-CALL SUBSTITUTE Academic Instructor who is reliable, compassionate, has an honorable work ethic, and also loves to work with youth! In this role, you will:Bethe mentor who helps students strive for academic excellence by empowering them to do their best, overcome challenges, and work to develop the skills they need to become lifelong learners. Develop and prepare lesson plans.Administer and correct tests.Complete daily attendance and accountability of the students. Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of students, who have varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. We are looking for an individual who is:OrganizedDetail-orientedPossesses strong oral and written communication skills A Team PlayerDrivenSelf-motivated This position requires proficiency in the use of computers and common computer programs such as Windows, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and other career and job search programs.Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree and an active New York State Teaching Certification. (Waivers are available for applicants with other State credentials, and who are in the process of applying for New York State Certification.) Compensation is based on experience.An equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and/or experience may substitute for the degree requirement on a year-to-year basis. Must possess a Valid, New York State Driver's License with an acceptable driving record.
