The program helps eligible young people ages 16 through 24, complete their high school education, trains them for meaningful careers, and assists them with obtaining employment. Job Corps has trained and educated over two million individuals since 1964.Oneonta Job Corps offers training in the Medical Trades: Certified Nursing Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant, and Medical Administrative Assistant. Auto Trades: Auto Body Collision and Repair, Auto Mechanics, Auto Technology. Construction Trades: Tile Setting, Cement Mason, and Electrical. Advanced Trades: Overhead Line Electrical, Rural Underground Distribution, SMART Meter, and Drone Piloting. Position Available: Academic InstructorWe are seeking full-time Academic Instructors who are:ReliableCompassionateOrganizedDetail-orientedSelf MotivatedTeam PlayersWho have:Proficiency in the use of computers and common computer software such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook, as well as other career, and job search sites. Honorable work ethics.and who loves to work with the youth! In this role, you will: Be the mentor who helps students strive for academic excellence by empowering them to do their best, overcome challenges, and work to develop the skills they need to become lifelong learners. Develop and prepare lesson plans.Administer and correct tests.Complete daily attendance and accountability of the students.Identify, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students, who have varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs. Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree and an active New York State Teacher Certification. Waivers are available for applicants with other State credentials and who are in the process of applying for New York State Certification.
