In addition, the Assistant Director will support the growing employee training and development platform and assist with implementation of employment related software.The position has potential for growth and promotion and requires a human resources professional with the agility to adapt to shifting obstacles and priorities, a reputation for mentoring employees and holding them accountable for measurable results, an ability to lead by example, proactive problem resolution, data driven decision-making while being sensitive to others, demonstrated support for diversity and inclusion, strong emotional intelligence and active listening skills.The Assistant Director will help develop and execute human resources strategies to position the University as an employer of choice. Ideally, the Assistant Director will have experience in some or all the following areas: talent acquisition and retention, employee engagement, performance systems, leadership and employee development, immigration and work authorization processes, wellness efforts, process re-engineering, legal compliance, diversity initiatives, classification and compensation systems, data analysis, and software implementation.Salary: $75,000 - $80,000 commensurate with experience. Requirements:Required Qualifications:Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institutionMinimum of 6 years' progressive Human Resources experience, with at least 4 years' HR experience at the mid/high management levelMinimum 2 years' Human Resources leadership, supervisory or team management experienceAdditional Qualifications:Knowledge of and experience across a broad range of human resources disciplines and practices, particularly those listed above; deep subject matter expertiseHighly effective written and oral communication and presentation skillsEvidence of outstanding cultural competency and sensitivity to all dimensions of diversity in the workplaceDeep experience with talent acquisition and employment search mechanisms, including related software programsSuccessful HR and employee engagement and development (training) program design and implementationExtensive knowledge of employment laws and regulationsDemonstrated extraordinary customer service orientationTrack record of success in meeting or exceeding established goalsFinance and budgeting aptitude, the ability to compile and analyze financial and other dataStrong proficiency with Microsoft Office products, human capital management systems, graphic design, and other software programsA strong desire to learn new things, develop and implement solutions, and be a productive contributor to an evolving employee services teamPreferred Qualifications:Current PHR/SPHR S/CP or similar HR certificationMaster's degree in human resources, business administration, social sciences, or other related disciplineEight or more years' progressive Human Resources experience at the mid/high management levelHuman Resources experience in a unionized environmentAdditional Information:SUNY Oneonta enrolls about 5,500 students who pursue bachelor's or master's degrees or certificates in one of 70-plus academic programs.
