Job Description

Established EH&S professional. Administers EH&S plans and procedures across multiple EH&S specialties, including Health/Safety and Environmental/Compliance.

Analyzes facility and employee practice issues for opportunities to apply EH&S procedures to solve problems or improve EH&S policy effectiveness.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Acts as a partner in EH&S by formulating and administering EH&S plans and procedures including EH&S Program Management.

  • Has responsibility for multiple EH&S specialties. May perform tasks associated with Health / Safety and Environmental compliance.

  • Coordinates with business partners for EH&S concerns regarding facilities and employee practices.

  • May have responsibility for facilities and / or medical at a site. Organizes and maintains EH&S policies to achieve and maintain compliance with regulations.

  • Manages relationships across other specialized departments to achieve and maintain compliance with EH&S regulations and UTC requirements.

  • Reviews performance against EH&S regulatory requirements and identifies non-conformance.

  • Explains and interprets EH&S regulations and employee practices to business facilities to achieve and maintain understanding.

  • Oversight of environmental programs which includes RCRA waste management, SPCC/SWPP, Title V, and Storm Water management, and environmental sustainability programs

  • Conducts required environmental regulatory reports and submissions.

  • Develops materials for EH&S training and communications on subjects required by regulations such as confined space, respiratory protection, compressed gases, electrical safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene etc.

  • Conducts EH&S inspections and analyzes audit findings to develop corrective actions and achieve and maintain safe work practices.

  • Executes procedures, reporting, and trainings across multiple EH&S disciplines.

  • Supports management of applicable federal, state, and local regulations as well as company policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing multiple tasks and project.

  • Lead initiatives to improve sitewide safety culture.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years’ experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required

  • Strong written and verbal communication, computer, and analytical skills required.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, AIHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.

  • Experience in the interpretation of local and state EH&S compliance standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of EHS into the manufacturing process.

  • Capable of working with a wide range of people from site leader to shop floor operators.

  • Must be a U.S. Person/ Permanent Resident ‘Green Card’ holder

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety.

  • Manufacturing work setting experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with ability communicate with professionalism.

  • Intermediate computer skills (e.g., MS Office) are essential.

  • Additional certifications, such as CSP, CIH. or CHMM
