Position Summary

The Nestlé Product Technology Centre Coffee (NPTC Coffee) is the leading R&D organization that discovers,

develops and deploys coffee and beverage products and technologies for in-home and out-of-home consumption.

It consists of units in Konolfingen (CH), Marysville (USA), Orbe (CH) and Singapore and provides new products

and processes to all Nestlé markets worldwide.

throughout the value chain of our business.

As an Electricity & Automation (E&A) Process Control Engineer , you will design, implement, and supervise the E&A part of CAPEX and improvement projects in R&D Orbe, following Nestlé standards. You will support pilot plants, ensuring technical soundness in electricity and process control hardware for projects and maintenance, while optimizing processes. Coaching engineers on E&A standards and operating automation based on Swiss regulations and Nestlé standards are also key responsibilities.

A Day in the Life of a E&A Process Control Engineer

  • Participate and/or lead E&A projects in the pilot plant, ensuring technical integrity, performance, and safe operations

  • Coordinate personnel to satisfy E&A objectives and ensure timely project implementation within budget

  • Collaborate with Pilot Plant, QA, Engineering, and Product departments to resolve automation issues

  • Manage proper documentation (such as User Requirement Specification and Process Descriptions) for projects and facilitate the introduction of new technologies

  • Conduct pilot plant maintenance, continuous improvements and troubleshooting

  • Establish backup procedures for automation and industrial IT systems

  • Monitor plant and equipment for optimal operation, minimizing planned and unplanned maintenance

  • Demonstrate zero-tolerance for unsafe situations, including food safety

  • Be available for occasional travel to support process industrialization in factories

What will make you successful

  • Degree in automation or equivalent / apprenticeship in a similar role

  • Experience required in Process Control, Loop Tuning, Instrumentation, PLC, and HMI programming

  • Knowledge of Rockwell Automation and Wonderware/Aveva products; ControlLogix PLC families is a plus

  • Strong knowledge development and sharing abilities

  • Focus on delivering quality and customer satisfaction

  • Ability to work independently with initiative

  • Strong organizational and communication skills

  • Effective problem-solving and issue identification

  • Commitment to a strong work ethic, integrity, honesty, safety, compliance, and quality

  • Fluent in French and English
