Position Overview:
This Data Systems & Operations (DSO) Manager position plays a pivotal role in orchestrating all business intelligence, analytics, workflow automation, data architecture, warehousing, integrity, and other data solutions/services. This leadership role will oversee a team of data systems analysts and data warehouse engineers, to help drive continuous improvement, partnering with executive leadership to maximize data accessibility across the company, ensuring that strategic decisions are data driven.
Responsibilities:
Manage and develop a team of data systems analysts and developers, driving continuous improvement through regular coaching, recurring 1-on-1s, team meetings and professional development activities
Define, execute, and monitor the team's strategies around systems, processes, and people
Oversee current initiatives and see projects through to completion
Collaborate with leadership to align DSO's strategy with the overall corporate strategy; uncover new opportunities for data solutions and services, ensuring that all the company's data needs are being met
Become a subject-matter expert on the company's CRM database and other data systems, and develop a deep understanding of the connections between its entities and the organizations KPIs
Maintain and improve company-wide KPI reporting systems and processes
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to discover data requirements and translate them into effective data solutions
Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using business intelligence tools to provide real-time insights to stakeholders
Design, implement, and maintain scheduled data pipelines and workflow automations, driving continuous optimization of their orchestration
Contribute to the design and development of our data warehouse using Snowflake, Fivetran and dbt, driving continuous improvement to its CI/CD, data integrity, security, and infrastructure
Spearhead high-impact data analyses and other related ad-hoc projects (some using advanced statistical methods), present findings and make recommendations to leadership
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Statistics, or related field (or equivalent corporate experience)
5+ years of hands-on experience in data analytics or data warehousing, with 2+ years of experience in project management and people management
3+ years of experience with a relational database language
3+ years of experience with PowerBI (preferably), Tableau, or another BI visualization tool
Experience creating a data and analytics strategy and roadmaps
Experience in data warehousing and ELT data stack and processes
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Passion for solving difficult technical problems, especially ones with many correct solutions
Strong leadership, organization, and collaboration skills
Preferred
Experience in the solar industry
Experience developing and overseeing enterprise-wide data governance standards and processes
Applicable certifications such as PMP
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Regular periods of sitting or standing may be required by this position. In addition, this position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
