Katmai Computer Systems Administrator - Hybrid in ORLANDO, Florida

SUMMARY

Responsible for ensuring the stable operation of all Katmai computer systems. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all computer hardware, software, networking equipment, communication links, and cloud services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform systems design and planning.

  • Analyze and resolve end user hardware and software problems and provide end user training where required.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for network resource administration, appropriate use, and disaster recovery.

  • Oversee installation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices.

  • Conduct research on IT products, services, protocols, and standards in support of system procurement and development efforts.

  • Interact and negotiate with vendors, service providers, and contractors to secure IT products and services.

  • Manage critical IT systems including e-mail, file, print, and backup systems.

  • Manage all network hardware and equipment, including firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless access points.

  • Responsible for the timely application of all system updates and patches.

  • Oversee all IT asset management, including maintenance of inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.

  • Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.

  • Administer all hosted systems and services (IAAS, PAAS, SAAS).

  • Perform system backups and recovery.

  • Monitor and test network performance and provides network performance statistics and reports.

  • Recommend, schedule, and perform IT system improvements, upgrades, and repairs.

  • Provide guidance and support to junior members of the IT team.

  • Ensure the security of all IT systems and maintain compliance with all applicable regulations.

  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field.

  • Five (5) years of experience working in Information Technology.

  • Strong working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and practices.

  • Must obtain and maintain any necessary security access and/or background checks.

DESIRE QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Microsoft and Information Security certifications preferred.

  • Proven work experience as an enterprise systems and/or network administrator.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows server and workstation operating systems.

  • Familiarity with VMware Vcloud and AWS hosting environments.

  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Azure.

  • Experience managing MS Office 365 and related services including mail, Sharepoint, OneDrive, Defender, and InTune.

  • Extensive application support experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe products.

  • Working technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, standards, and best practices.

  • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws with ability to exercise mature judgment, specifically in recognizing and respecting the confidential nature of corporate and personnel matters.

  • Familiarity with current authentication standards and practices such as MFA, FIDO, and Passwordless authentication.

  • Experience with secure remote desktop applications.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including oral and written.

  • Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.

  • Ability to conduct research into networking issues and products as required.

  • Ability to present ideas in user-friendly language.

  • Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.

  • Strong customer service orientation.

  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; monitors own work to ensure quality.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

WORK SCHEDULE

Full-time. May be required to work additional hours as needed to complete assignment or project.

TRAVEL

The expected travel time is less than 25%.

DRIVING REQUIREMENT

Must have or be able to attain a valid state driver’s license and be insurable on the company’s automobile insurance policy. Driving, with or without accommodation, may be required when traveling and/or short occasional amounts of local driving. The expected driving time is less than 5%.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a hybrid setting. Employee will work remotely and, in an office setting in Orlando, FL. Employee will be exposed to a wide variety of people in differing functions, personalities, and abilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Frequent sitting, using hands/fingers, handling, reaching with hands and arms, talking, hearing, occasional walking, crawling, or standing, occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.
