Job Description

*Leads, defines and maintains the processes for identifying configuration items (CIs) in a system, covering the selection, documentation, and baseline updates of CIs.

*Manages changes to configuration items.

*Evaluates and approves changes so that CIs remain in a consistent state throughout their lifecycle.

*Manages change requests, validates that changes are properly documented, assessed for impact, approved, implemented, and verified.

*Tracks the status of configuration items and changes to them over time.

*Maintains detailed records and reports on the configuration of products and systems, including the status of change requests and the implementation of changes.

*Conducts periodic audits and reviews to verify that systems and components are consistent with their documented requirements, design, and operational information.

*Analyzes configuration management processes to identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.

*Provides training and guidance to team members on configuration management principles, practices, and tools.

*Implements configuration management practices that align with relevant standards and regulations including industry-specific requirements, such as ISO standards.

*Identifies and manages risks associated with software and system configurations.

*Implements risk mitigation strategies related to configuration management to prevent potential issues that could affect project outcomes.

Education/Experience:

*(10+BA/BS or 5+MA/MS) or (14+AA/No Degree)
