Job Summary and Qualifications
Position Summary : Demonstrates accountability and responsibility in coordination of daily patient registration and scheduling.
Essential Functions:
Provides administrative clerical support for the day-to-day operations of the department. Contributes to optimizing customer satisfaction and the continuity and effective operation of the department.
Coordinates daily patient scheduling. Responsible for providing customer focused, efficient and professional patient registration and order entry.
Updates existing patient system information to ensure accuracy of demographic and insurance data. Obtains pre-authorization when needed from payor.
Maintains proactive and effective communication with all members of the departmental team; communicates any concerns or issues regarding patient scheduling immediately.
Responsible for the collection and interpretation of physicians' orders, and in obtaining all relevant information related to the registration and order entry process.
Composes, prepares and manages office correspondence, and hospital policies and procedures.
Courteously facilitates and handles requests, complaints and communications with staff, physicians, and guests. Exercises good judgment, discretion and diplomacy in communications.
What qualifications you will need:
High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required
Associates degree in business or related field preferred
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience in patient registration, billing or collections in a hospital or physician office setting.

Our hospital provides full-service healthcare to Osceola County and surrounding communities.
