Your Impact

Essential Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Construction Materials Lab Managers to support construction materials testing, inspection, and laboratory groups statewide.

  • Manage lab accreditations, prepare for lab audits, conduct internal safety audits, maintain quality control, and ensure timely lab test execution.

  • Maintain laboratory accreditation program for both laboratory and field staff.

  • Oversee and participate in annual proficiency sample programs.

  • Assist in business development and strategic planning to expand market share in key markets.

  • Supervise a team of laboratory technicians, ensuring technical quality of deliverables.

  • Possess strong knowledge of laboratory tests, field testing procedures, and inspections.

  • Function as the main point of contact with client representatives.

  • Demonstrate ability to make sound decisions based on judgment and experience.

  • Uphold responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company resources and conduct, following WSP’s Code of Conduct.

  • Travel as needed based on project requirements.

  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as dictated by business needs.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Over 7 years of experience in construction materials laboratory operations and a deep understanding of lab accreditation procedures.

  • Proficient in interpreting and adhering to ASTM/AASHTO standards.

  • Effective communication skills for positive interaction with project team members and clients.

  • Skilled in supervising and leading staff members.

  • Exceptional organizational abilities and adept at handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Capable of conducting lab testing tasks, including lifting heavy equipment and samples.

  • Able to perform duties involving prolonged standing and repetitive movements.

  • Self-driven, diligent, and able to work both independently and in team settings.

  • Proficient in completing assignments within specified guidelines and deadlines.

  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must meet background check and driving record requirements as per company policy.

  • Demonstrated commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies.

  • Flexible with work schedules to accommodate project needs beyond regular hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CMEC, AMRL, CCRL and USACE Laboratory Accreditations.

  • Experience with FDOT Laboratory Accreditations.

  • Experience with FDOT Materials Acceptance and Certification System.
