University of Maine System Database Administrator I in Orono, Maine

The University of Maine System is seeking applications for the position of Database Administrator I. The Database Administrator I at the University of Maine System Information Technology Group provides database administration support (installation, administration, monitoring, tuning, backup, security, and design) for mission-critical Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server databases. DBAs also provide application administration support for our Oracle PeopleSoft ERP systems. Database administrators work closely with system administrators, developers, and application stakeholders to deliver robust and secure database solutions.

The work location for this position is at the Orono campus of the University of Maine. Remote working is a possibility for the qualified candidate.

Based on the qualifications and experience of the successful applicant, the annual salary range is low to mid $60s plus a 10% employer contribution to the UMS retirement plan. Additional benefits include medical, dental, vision, and tuition waiver programs for employees and dependents. Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred:

  • One or more years of experience in Oracle database administration.

  • Experience working in a higher education information technology department.

  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration.

  • Experience in Microsoft SQL Server administration.
