Your Opportunity as the Manager, Data Strategy Are you passionate about helping an enterprise get the most value out of it's data? If so, we're seeking someone like you to join our Integrated Analytics team. As a lead data steward, you will play a crucial role in establishing and guiding our enterprise data strategy, communication, and governance to support our business objectives. Location: Working Remote USA In this role you will: Develop and maintain a comprehensive data strategy that outlines an organization's approach to managing, utilizing and deriving value from data which includes data collection, storage, analysis and governance. Develop and maintain a roadmap based on business needs and complexity that enable realization of data strategy through partnership with business teams and analytical leads. Develop a deep understanding of current business needs and ability to understand marketplace dynamics and how to apply to JMS strategy. Manage data vendors contracts and vendor relationship. Partner closely with Procurement to ensure that analytical language is represented in contracts to hold vendors accountable. Ensure that data suppliers are aligned with our data strategy roadmap and guidance. Ensure that The J.M. Smucker Co. has direct path to technical team to troubleshoot data integrity at a pace that is in line with our SLA. Define optimal ETL parameters for data transfer and assists in translation to engineering team for implementation. Lead in exploration and evaluation as new data sources become available to the market. Conduct evaluations of new vendors against best in class / industry leading vendors. Conduct comparative analysis of specific KPIs between existing dataset and candidate dataset conducted on analytics platform using SQL or Python. Collaborate with governance board and data stewards on policy creation and implementation. Establish processes and best practices for data stewards and data quality analyst. Mentor and coach analysts to program data cleansing or standardization rules in analytical and governance environment using SQL or Python. Interpret and communicate policies from the data and analytics governance board to ensure clarity and quality in policy enactment. Collaborate with data and analytics governance board members to provide input on policy creation and reporting on policy enactment status. Lead analytical assessment and implementation of data acquisition and partner with IS organization to gather technical requirements. Create uniform metric definition and streamline use of key metrics as master data in reporting that maps 3rdparty data to the grain of transactional data sets. Manage data governance in tools for easy company-wide access to governed data. Coach, mentor and advise junior team members through code review and ensure that rules are properly established and executed. Advise engineering teams on data structure optimization based on knowledge of industry best practices with large scale datasets.
