The J.M. Smucker Company Senior Technician, Sensory in Orrville, Ohio
Your Opportunity as the Senior Technician, Sensory This role will execute sensory panels supporting customers, including, but not limited to, sample preparation, serving samples, sensory test execution, lab cleaning and documentation. Location: Orrville, Corporate Offices Work Arrangements: On Site - Scheduled 8 hour shifts M-F between 7a.m. and 6:30 p.m., limited responsibility on some weekends and holidays In this role you will: Maintains a strong focus on customer service to effectively communicate and have positive interactions with panelists Builds relationships within the Sensory team and with customers to enhance communication Maintains thorough lab records with instructions, protocols, panel execution records, and accurately records panel attendance. Applies sensory evaluation methodologies to organize and execute consumer and trained panels through independent and team work, including, but not limited to, product procurement and panelist scheduling Build a foundational understanding of sensory science Contribute to the continuous improvement of sensory practices with a focus on Sensory lab processes Spends the majority of their time with lab work Maintain clean and organized laboratory work environment including managing/purchasing lab supply inventory, maintenance for equipment. Maintain odor neutral environment by striving to be personally "odor neutral" by agreeing not to wear perfume or other scents, and being aware of other environmental odors. Supports training for other departments or locations for sensory evaluation needs, such as Research & Development or plant quality teams Guides sensory personnel by teaching S.O.P.s Usage of sensory software The Right Role for You We are bold, kind, strive to do the right thing, we play to win, and we believe in a strong community that thrives together.
