The Custodian Lead reports to the Custodial Services Supervisor and is responsible for guiding custodial staff (permanent, temporary and student) in the performance of cleaning services, in addition to performing regular cleaning tasks. The incumbent must have excellent communication, organizational and time management skills when working with students, custodians, staff and supervisors; be physically able to perform custodial duties according to department standards; have the ability to assign and review work; have the ability to operate custodial cleaning equipment according to instructions; and follow all safety rules and report safety violations to a supervisor. The employee may come in contact with blood-borne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. Must successfully complete a pre-work screen to ensure the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Responsibilities: A. Performance of Custodial Duties 1. Clean, disinfect and stock restrooms daily. 2. Remove waste materials. 3. Clean and disinfect drinking fountains daily. 4. Sweep, dust mop, mop and vacuum floors and stairs. 5. Clean windows and other bright work surfaces. 6. Clean and polish furniture. 7. Dust wall vents, grates, doorframes, louvers, ledges, etc. 8. Replace light bulbs, tubes and lenses. 9.
