About the role and key responsibilities:

As our new Senior Design Engineer, you will be the lead on design engineering tasks in close collaboration with key project stakeholders. You will ensure focus on design robustness, manufacturability, time-to-market, and product reliability. In addition, you will facilitate and develop methods and controls used for design and development of Medical Device products.

On top of Product Development, you will have an important role supporting and guiding Sustaining Engineering tasks, counting legacy product and documentation maintenance, product updates and changes, considering requirements engineering and risk management. In this role you will be a key authority in Pre-Project-, Concepting-, Design- and Change Control phases.

You will be part of a dynamic and ambitious Technology and Innovation organization, where you will report to the Mechanical Manager and be a part of a team of 15 highly dedicated and skilled design engineers and specialists.

Main responsibilities in this role include - but is not limited to:

  • Lead design activities, fulfilling usability requirements and product performance.

  • Lead and ensure design robustness as well as manufacturability.

  • Lead, create, review, and approve documentation supporting regulatory and company requirements.

  • Perform, analyze, review measurement analysis with the purpose of mould tool qualification.

This position is based in Denmark, and the primary work location will be in Osted, south of Roskilde, where the Danish production is also located. We offer a hybrid office environment, with the possibility to work from home or occasionally from our Søborg office 1-2 days a week, as it fits your tasks. You can expect up to 10 travel days annually.

About you:

We are looking for a Senior Design Engineer, who bring a solid mechanical engineering and design foundation and a breadth of knowledge and experience in common processing technologies, where direct experience with design for mechanisms and high-volume polymer injection moulding is preferred.

You have experiences with Design for Manufacturing, Mechatronics, assembly methods and related processes like polymer extrusion, ultrasonic welding, heat-staking, force and torque measurements, and other means used in the production environment.

In addition, you are pragmatic and always practicing a risk-based thinking, focused on sustainable solutions.

To be truly successful in this position you thrive in an international environment that is characterized by cross-functional teamwork, as you will work in close collaboration with production, procurement, mould, automation, QA/QC and Regulatory Affairs in a matrix organisation. You are pragmatic and operate with a sense of urgency to meet your deadlines.

You enjoy a busy working day and can progress and finalise several and various tasks in parallel, thriving with evolving and changes.

Qualifications:

  • You hold a MSc or BSc in mechanical engineering or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in medical device product development (Class II) or similar

  • Advanced experience with Solidworks CAD and simulation software

  • Tolerance stack-up analysis, DFA/DFM

  • Profound understanding of statistical methods

  • Advanced polymer materials and properties insight

  • Advanced experience with high volume manufacturing processes (including injection moulding, automated assembly, packaging)

  • Profound English communication skills (written and verbal)

  • Experience with ISO 13485 Medical devices - Quality management systems, or similar
