Carmeuse Americas Capex Project Managers in Ottignies-Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium
As a Capex Project Manager, you are responsible for managing medium and large size greenfield / brownfield industrial projects of Carmeuse Technologies spread across worldwide geographies and shall include managing site execution works.
Carmeuse Technologies is, an engineering company, part of the Carmeuse Group providing technical services and engineering. As part of the technical services, Carmeuse Technologies provides services for greenfield and brownfield projects for Lime calcination and other related activities of Carmeuse Group. Carmeuse Group also intends to embark on significant projects related to CO2 reduction / capture in which Carmeuse Technologies shall play a leading role. In this context, Carmeuse Tech. is now looking for Regional Project Manager(s) to support its growing list of projects and expanding business of Carmeuse Group.
Your Responsibilities
Program Management of various projects across different locations across world:
You would be responsible & shall coordinate the entire life cycle of those projects
You shall support “Design” and “Electrical + Automation” Engineering teams during pre-engineering & engineering
You shall support Procurement team
You directly manage projects with the support of Site team & Project Management Companies depending upon the size and complexities of project
You ensure clear and timely communication toward project stakeholders
You guide management on local conditions, business environment, cultural expectations/issues, permitting in new Country / Geography
You ensure requisite compliance and approval from project stakeholders as per the approved Project RASCI matrix
You liaise with local government authorities with or without support of local partner / team
You build positive relationship with all stakeholders, especially with Partners & Clients.
Budget & Schedule development:
- You shall be responsible for developing and managing Budget & schedule utilizing state-of the-art and appropriate software tools in coordination with Carmeuse Technologies Management, Engineering, Procurement, Process & Site teams. You shall get the buy in / approval from respective Business Units (BU).
Act as an ambassador of Carmeuse Technologies & Carmeuse:
- You ensure that the projects assigned are successfully executed complying with project goals which shall include besides, technical aspects other aspects such as safety, legal, environment, …. You shall also assure that time schedule and budget and are in accordance with the approved targets. You shall also be responsible for the following:
Project management: You ensure that the CM & PMC in charge of the project is adhering to all aspects of the project. you should be able to anticipate possible problems/ issues and take preventive action.
Budget and schedule: you ensure that site team implements strict project and financial control. Monthly monitoring of all projects with site team & Carmeuse Technologies management remains key responsibility.
Project control: You ensure that regular Project progress reports are received in timely manner from Site team and communicate the critical items to management.
Risk management: You work with site team to identify the risks & develop the risk management strategy for the project.
Procurement: You review the recommendation of Site Team / Engineering & procurement. As per need, you get involved in key discussions & support the team for finalizing the most suitable vendor.
Safety: You monitor closely the implementation of Carmeuse Technologies Safety policy at all sites by site management
Team Management : You organize and Manage project / construction management team.
Your Profile
Qualification:
4 years Fulltime Engineering degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering from premium institutes
Certification like PMP, PRINCE2, MS (Project Management / Construction Management) will be an added advantage.
Experience:
Around 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in Industrial Project and Construction Management out of which minimum 3 years hands on site experience
Experience in middle to large size process industry is a must
Completed minimum 1 Brown Field and 1 Green Field project of more than $ 10 Million
Management of multiple projects Program
Experience in working in international projects is desirable
Management of internal or subcontracted teams of five people minimum.
Technical Skill:
Technical knowledge and experience in Mineral processing system engineering to keep challenging the technical design of the project. You have sound experience of all disciplines like Civil, Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation
Be aware of all construction methodology
Good knowledge of the heavy industry (iron & steel, metallurgy, lime, cement …) is areal plus
Planning & organizing, problem solving and strong decision-making skills
Good command on FIDIC / ICC or similar
Familiar with dispute resolution, arbitration
Familiar with EIA.
Software Knowledge:
Good first-hand experience with MS Office tools like Power Point, Excel, Word etc.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Project / Primavera
Basic knowledge of AutoCAD
Good command on Excel for budget preparation.
Soft Skills:
Passionate for technical issues - always looking to understand the why of things
Goal and solution oriented
Excellent communication skills with the ability to expose your opinion and influence others
Self-driven and autonomous
Fluent in English (written and spoken), knowledge of other languages is advantageous
Multicultural mind-set and capacity to adapt easily to different local circumstances
Diplomatic, decision maker and assertive as per requirement.
Location
The position is primarily located in Louvain-La-Neuve office.
Might be assigned to a specific site location within country or abroad for the duration of a project.
Travels
- Job entails extensive travel (maximum 25%) internationally.
