Actalent Embedded Hardware Design Engineer in Owatonna, Minnesota
Description:
This is a general EE/Embedded Hardware Engineer. They will work on a variety of products. Primary focus is working with Digital and analog circuit design (currently using mentor will switch over to Altium or Cadence) ability to design schematic, input for design layout, debugging hardware, ability to write firmware to test hardware (Embedded Linux, C, or Python) troubleshoot Bluetooth, USB, Ect.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Design electronic systems, products, firmware and components for automotive applications.
Analyze customer needs to determine the costs, capacity, and requirements for creating an electrical system plan.
Create testing procedures and maintenance for electronic equipment and components.
Analyze and Recommend design improvements, compliance requirements
Create specifications for manufacturing tests, test firmware to verify hardware functionality.
Minimum Qualifications: BSEE – (Electrical /Electronics Engineering)
Industry Experience: Minimum 3 Years in designing SoC based products using Embedded Linux / Camera interface.
The software portion of the role will involve basic scripting and writing C++ programming to verify the hardware. For scripting they can use any language they’re familiar with.
Essentially they will be creating software to test the hardware. It’s not Bare Metal programming but just using the firmware to do testing.
For this role the emphasis will be majority hardware focused and then software. So again they will need to be able to demonstrate that they can draw schematics.
